After a short hiatus the legendary Mixmag Live series
returns to the homes, personal stereos and cars of free wheelingg club
goers.
Mixmag Live was the first ever legal DJ mix CD and
since it's inception in 1991 over 50 DJ's have stepped up to the
hallowed DMC turntables,
including such legends as Sasha, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, LTJ Bukem,
Hype, Tom Middleton and Moby to name but a few....

Mixmag Live burst into life in 1991, Dave Seamn and Carl Cox laid down
the foundations and put together two sparkling mixes for the first Volume.
The people that bought that first tape were also buying a piece of history.
It was the world's first ever legal DJ mix compilation and like subsequent
volumes of Mixmag Live since: it rocked!
Eleven
years later, and everyman and his dog are churning out 'DJ Mix Hits of
Sound Ever' compilations. But we still think we do it best, for three
very simple reasons. Firstly we're only interested in DJs who are, well,
interesting and talented rather than those who have a good public profile
and will shift us loads of units. Secondl, we are not a house series,
nor a drum & bass series, a breakbest series, a chillout series -
we're all these things, and we simply pick the best from the genre. Thirdly,
unlike many other record companies there is no team of marketing bods
sitting in the office trying to decide which chart hits to put on our
next album. We leave the compiling of each Mixmag Live album to the people
who know best - the DJs.
In
those passing years Mixmag Live has featured the artistry of 40 of the
world's most talented DJs and has expanded the formats that include CD
and unmixed vinyl versions for those of you that play out.
