The
first release on '7 Live' just goes to prove it as Jon Carter
and his alter ego Junior Cartier battle it out across two CD's
of sumtuous mutli-genre dance music. "The best job I have
ever had" is how Jon Carter sums up his career to date. Jon's
subsequent rise to prominence was triggered, like so many of his
generation by the acid house revolution of 1989, but it wasnt
until 1993 when he started his Heavenly Social residency alongside
Norman Cook and the Chemicals that carved his name as a truly
magnificant DJ. After years of being tagged @the gruff voiced
loon of big beat' Job decided it was time for change and before
you could say "house music all night long" Junior Cartier
was born. The inspiration for this guise came from the re-emergence
of house music with real funk and energy. It is only on this double
CD that you can hear both egos in action. Mix one is very "beats"
orientated, blending the trade mark Jon Carter style with uplifting
party house. Mix two takes you on a trip with dark and twisted
house that is currently tearing up UK dance floors.
